III. Precautions

1. Processing and welding

At the same time, water-soluble cutting fluid should be used to reduce the processing temperature to avoid surface hardening of the material.

  • Welding process: Before welding, the surface of the workpiece should be thoroughly cleaned of oil, rust and other impurities. It is recommended to use tungsten inert gas welding (TIG) or metal arc welding (MIG), and use special welding wire with a molybdenum content of ≥5% (such as ER385). During the welding process, the interlayer temperature should be controlled not to exceed 150℃. After welding, solid solution treatment can be performed to eliminate stress.


2. Surface treatment and protection

  • Passivation treatment: After processing, pickling and passivation treatment should be carried out. The acid ratio is recommended to use a mixed solution of 10% nitric acid + 2% hydrofluoric acid. The treatment time is 15-30 minutes, and then rinsed with deionized water to neutral to avoid residual corrosive media on the surface.

  • Coating protection: In extreme environments such as marine atmosphere and industrial acid rain, fluorocarbon coating or zinc-nickel alloy plating can be sprayed to form a double protection system to improve the corrosion resistance of the material.


3. Storage and transportation management

  • Environmental control: The storage site should be dry and ventilated to avoid coexistence with corrosive substances such as salts and acid mist. It is recommended to use overhead stacking and lay moisture-proof mats at the bottom to prevent ground moisture erosion.

  • Transport protection: Long-distance transportation requires wrapping with waterproof canvas to avoid direct contact between rain and seawater. For precision machined parts, they should be packed in sealed wooden boxes and filled with shockproof materials to prevent bumps and damage to the surface protective layer.
