2. Chemical Composition

  • The alloy primarily consists of:

Nickel (Ni): ≥72.0%

Chromium (Cr): 14.0–17.0%

Iron (Fe): 6.0–10.0%


  • It also contains small amounts of:

Carbon (C): ≤0.15%

Manganese (Mn): ≤1.0%

Silicon (Si): ≤0.5%

Sulfur (S): ≤0.015%

Phosphorus (P): minimal, well-controlled

Density: ~8.4 g/cm³

Melting Point: 1370–1425°C

Thermal Conductivity (100–900°C): 0.5–1.17 W/(m·K)

4. Mechanical Properties

(1) After Annealing:

Tensile Strength: ≥550 MPa

Yield Strength: ≥240 MPa

Elongation: ≥30%

Brinell Hardness: ≤195 HB


(2) After Solution Treatment:

Tensile Strength: ≥500 MPa

Yield Strength: ≥180 MPa

Elongation: ≥35%

Brinell Hardness: ≤185 HB



5. Performance Highlights

(1)Excellent Corrosion Resistance:
NFC600-P performs well in reducing, oxidizing, and nitriding environments. It is highly resistant to organic acids (e.g., acetic, formic acid) and moderately resistant to inorganic acids. It also offers strong resistance to chloride-induced stress corrosion cracking and corrosion by dry chlorine and hydrogen chloride. Additionally, it performs reliably in high-purity water environments such as nuclear reactors.


(2)Outstanding High-Temperature Performance:
The alloy retains high strength at 650°C, resists oxidation up to 1100°C in air, and withstands up to 1150°C in reducing atmospheres such as hydrogen or CO. It remains ductile and stable in the 550–750°C temperature range.


(3)Good Workability and Weldability:
NFC600-P features excellent hot working capabilities. Final solution treatment is typically done at 1010–1050°C. It supports various welding methods including arc welding and TIG welding. Large or complex weldments can undergo post-weld annealing at 870°C for 1 hour to relieve stress.



6. Applications

(1) Chemical Industry:
Used in evaporators, acid and alkali processing machinery, catalytic regenerators, vinyl chloride monomer production units, and chlorination-based TiO₂ manufacturing equipment.

(2) Heat Treatment Industry:
Ideal for components in heat treatment furnaces, especially in carburizing and nitriding atmospheres.

(3) Nuclear Industry:
Applied in nuclear reactor power systems, heat exchangers, and other components exposed to high-purity water environments.

(4) Aerospace Industry:
Suitable for jet engine parts and afterburner components of turbine jet engines, ensuring reliable operation under high temperatures and corrosive conditions.
