4. Heat Treatment Process

To further enhance its mechanical properties and wear resistance, SKS11 undergoes the following heat treatment processes:

• Annealing: Heated to 750-800°C, then slowly cooled to reduce hardness and improve machinability.

• Quenching: Heated to 800-850°C, followed by rapid cooling (oil quenching or water quenching) to increase hardness and strength.

• Tempering: Heated to 150-200°C, then cooled to reduce brittleness after quenching and improve toughness.

5. Wear Resistance

Thanks to its high carbon content and alloying elements, SKS11 offers exceptional wear resistance, making it ideal for high-wear applications.

6. Applications

• Cutting Tools: Used in the production of drill bits, milling cutters, saw blades, and other precision cutting tools.

• Molds: Suitable for stamping dies and cold-work molds, ensuring long-lasting performance.

• Mechanical Components: Applied in high-wear mechanical parts such as bearings and gears, offering durability and reliability in demanding environments.

7. Machining and Welding

• Machining: SKS11 can be processed using conventional machining methods, but due to its high hardness, carbide tools are recommended for optimal results.

• Welding: Welding methods such as arc welding and gas-shielded welding can be used; however, preheating and post-weld heat treatment are necessary to prevent cracking and ensure structural integrity.
