Alloy 28 is an ultra-low carbon austenitic alloy that is highly regarded for its excellent corrosion resistance in harsh corrosive media in the chemical industry. This alloy exhibits excellent resistance to uniform corrosion in wet process phosphoric acid, in addition to excellent resistance to pitting corrosion, crevice corrosion, intergranular corrosion and stress corrosion cracking. Its process properties are similar to general austenitic stainless steel, so it has been widely used in chemical processing industry in recent years.
